Great schools are all unique. Yet common to them all is a great vision. Embedded in The Northumberland Church of England Academy is just such a vision: of an inclusive and high-achieving school in which each child will be encouraged and enabled to flourish. This exciting development brings together ten existing schools to form one all-age Academy on five sites, and over £46m will be spent on ensuring that the Academy has buildings and facilities of very high quality. Such ambition calls for exceptional leadership throughout the Academy, and we now seek a Finance Director who can work with the Executive Director to serve the needs and aspirations of every learner, energetically delivering the vision and ensuring its continuing freshness.

As part of the Executive Leadership Team, this role will put you at the heart of the Academy’s strategic planning and policy development. You’ll lead and manage all aspects of the Academy’s financial operations and controls, ensuring overall that the Academy gives and receives value for money. Developing our financial policy framework, preparing our budget, and with responsibility for all accounting procedures and systems, you’ll ensure that we comply with all financial and statutory issues. An excellent grasp of educational funding, Academy structures and an understanding of the role of faith sponsored education would all be an advantage.
