The role | Director of Learning to Learn

Central to the vision and ethos of the Academy is the belief that learners need to develop the ability to take on new challenges, to confront difficult situations, and to have the confidence to learn from their mistakes in order to support high levels of achievement. Our Learning to Learn strategy will ensure that all our pupils have the skills, confidence and inspiration to become independent learners. As Director of Learning to Learn you’ll take this vision and ensure it is reflected in learning and teaching practice throughout the Academy.

A key challenge will be to translate strategic aspiration into practical action, building a learning community that is passionate about personalised learning and embedding this throughout the curriculum. You will need to be able to build relationships and forge partnerships with the other Directors, Assistant Directors and subject leaders ensuring Learning to Learn actively supports literacy, ICT and the specialism.

Our new Director of Learning will be a confident Learning to Learn practitioner, a highly effective communicator and passionate about the opportunities of working within a all-age environment. This role will place you at the heart of transforming education for the communities we serve.
